Which Pizza Dough is Best for Pizza Cones

If you love pizza cones and you’ve always wanted to make them at home, you might be wondering what the right recipe would be for producing these tasty treats. A pizza cone will hold all of the ingredients of your favourite pizza including the flavors of a Chicago deep dish pizza and all in a handheld format. A pizza cone mould will require a very specific type of crust in order to bake correctly.

Using 2 cups of all-purpose flour, half a cup of warm water, 2 tablespoons of canola oil, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of instant yeast you can create the perfect dough for this creation.

Combine the dry ingredients together and then add in the water and canola oil. Using an electric mixer or dough hook, you can mix together all of the ingredients on a low speed for 1 to 2 min.. Increase the speed of the mixer for 46 min. on high until the dough gains elastic texture.

Add oil to the exterior of the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap for roughly 60 min..

A rolling pin should be used to roll out the dough after 60 min. into a 1/8 of an inch thickness. Use a dough cutter to cut along the rolled dough.

Add egg wash or water along the edge of the dough.

Fold over the dough into a cone.

Make sure there is a docker over the seam of the dough and that is properly closed and allowed to rest on a cutting board for 10 to 15 min..

Preheat your oven to 400°

Add the dough into cone molds and fill them as desired with toppings. Cook the cones for 8 min. until the fillings start to bubble.

Make sure the pizza cones are able to rest for a few minutes before you start eating.
